Sounds like this?

  • Device doesn't appear in the Bluetooth list
  • Pairs but disconnects
  • Mouse lags or stutters
  • Bluetooth toggle missing

Step by step

  1. Replace or charge the batteries. Low power is the top cause of lag and dropouts.
  2. Put the device in pairing mode (usually hold the pairing or connect button until a light blinks). Check the device's manual.
  3. Windows: Settings › Bluetooth & devices. Make sure Bluetooth is On. If the device was paired before, Remove it, then Add device › Bluetooth.
  4. Mac: System Settings › Bluetooth. Remove the device (the i button › Forget) and pair again.
  5. Move the device within 3 feet and away from USB 3 hubs, Wi-Fi routers, and metal desks, which can interfere.
  6. If the Bluetooth toggle is missing, restart, then check Device Manager › Bluetooth for errors and update the driver from your PC maker.
  7. If the device came with a USB receiver (Logitech Unifying/Bolt), plug that in instead of using Bluetooth.
